Town of North Hempstead to Hold Auditions in September for “The Children’s Pops” Orchestra

North Hempstead, NY – Are you interested in improving your musical skills, meeting other musicians, and/or performing? If so, the Town of North Hempstead has the perfect opportunity for you! North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board, in conjunction with the Parks and Recreation Department, are proud to announce that The Children’s Pops Orchestra will be holding auditions on September 20th and 21st with 11 rehearsals to follow beginning October 7th at Michael J. Tully Park.

“This is such a fantastic opportunity to bring young musicians together from all over the Town of North Hempstead,” said Supervisor Bosworth.

The Children’s Pop Orchestra is unique because it performs all styles of music from classic to pop to jazz. Acceptance to the orchestra is based on a performance of a solo selection, some orchestra experience, and the completion of NYSSMA level 4 or higher. There is no age limit and all instrument positions are available.

Sign up at Michael J. Tully Park for the Fall, Winter, or Spring sessions. Space is limited.
