NHTV Debuts New PSA on Water Conservation

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth in conjunction with the Town’s Office of Sustainability announced that North Hempstead Television (NHTV) will debut a new public service announcement (PSA) aimed at providing residents tips on conserving water in their everyday lives.

The one-minute PSA discusses the importance of fixing leaky faucets, washing your car at a car wash rather than manually at home, and not overwatering your lawn during hot summer months. The commercial also encourages residents to purchase items such as showerheads and faucets that have the logo of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Watersense program, of which the Town is a partner, in order to cut water use by 20 percent.

“This PSA is critical to our ongoing mission of informing residents that our water supply on Long Island is not endless,” Supervisor Bosworth said. “It is essential that we are all equipped with the knowledge and tools to conserve water in order to ensure that this precious resource is available for future generations.”

The PSA can be viewed on NHTV on Channel 18/63 on Cablevision or Channel 46 on Verizon FIOS. It can also be accessed online at www.mynhtv.com.
