Gold Coast Int’l Film Festival Kicks Off
November 2 – 13

North Hempstead, NY –North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board, in partnership with the Gold Coast Arts Center, are proud to announce the 2018 Gold Coast International Film Festival featuring an exciting slate of films. Among the array of films is the Long Island Premiere of Martin Scorcese’s Diane, the “Best Narrative” winner at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.

This year’s festival takes place from November 2 – 13 in venues throughout the Town of North Hempstead, and once again, everyone is invited to join us for an exciting week of films, parties, filmmaker Q&A’s, and glamour!


“We are thrilled to once again host the fabulous Gold Coast International Film Festival,” said North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “The film festival is the Town’s time to shine, as we showcase some of the finest films of the year.”


“This year’s festival will once again allow audiences to come together for a first look at the movies that everyone will be talking about,” said Regina Gill, Executive Director of the Gold Coast Arts Center and Gold Coast International Film Festival. “We are especially excited this year about the many filmmakers and special guests who will be coming to share their experiences, ideas and anecdotes.”


The Gold Coast International Film Festival will kick off on Friday, November 2 at 7 p.m. at the Great Neck Bow Tie Squire Cinemas with the Long Island premiere of Deconstructing the Beatles: Magical Mystery Tour. A live Q&A will follow the film screening featuring internationally recognized Beatles expert, musicologist, and creator of the film, Scott Freiman, along with a concert by Beatles cover band, Penny Lane will be held after the screening at the Gold Coast Arts Center (located next to the Great Neck Bow Tie Squire Cinemas).


Award-winning feature films from the world’s most prestigious festivals (Cannes, Toronto, Sundance, Tribeca, Hamptons) will be shown, along with dozens of excellent short films. This includes the Long Island premiere of Diane which was awarded Best Narrative Feature at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival, will screen on Thursday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Soundview Cinemas in Port Washington.

The eighth anniversary of the not-for-profit Gold Coast International Film Festival features over 80 films and dozens of filmmakers at screenings and events at North Shore venues, including Soundview Cinemas in Port Washington, the Bow Tie Cinemas in Great Neck, Port Washington, Manhasset and Roslyn, and the Gold Coast Arts Center in Great Neck. This year, the GCIFF will once again present the work of talented young filmmakers in grades K-12 in the Young Filmmakers Program, presented in partnership with Hofstra University.
