Town Partners with PSEG LI and EAC Network to Unveil New Meals on Wheels Vehicle

North Hempstead, NY – Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Council Members Viviana Russell, Anna Kaplan, Lee Seeman, Dina De Giorgio along with Town Clerk Wayne Wink and Receiver of Taxes Charles Berman joined with officials from PSEG Long Island and EAC Network for the unveiling of the new Meals on Wheels vehicle.

“Meals on Wheels is a great program that links homebound seniors to the services they need including healthy meals, education on nutrition and a friendly visit from a volunteer. This program will continue to make a difference in the lives of so many of our seniors here in North Hempstead,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth.

PSEG LI provided the funds for a new vehicle and money for over 3,000 prepared frozen meals that can be delivered in advance of a weather emergency. Throughout the year employee volunteers from PSEG will deliver warm meals to seniors.

The addition of the new vehicle will enable 75 households to immediately be removed from the waiting list and be served. The new vehicle will be servicing households in the New Hyde Park, Manhasset and Great Neck areas.
