Town of North Hempstead to hold EcoFest ‘08 this Weekend!

EcoFest ‘08 to feature Wildlife Demonstrations, Children Activities, and Live Music

Albertson, NY—Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the North Hempstead Town Board invite all residents to celebrate the Town’s 3rd annual EcoFest on May 3 & 4 from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the beautiful Clark Botanic Garden. EcoFest is a two-day family event exploring our environment through entertaining, creative and informative presentations that provide solutions to improve the environment.

Activities at EcoFest ’08 include wildlife demonstrations, pond study, live music, composting and plantings to take home. There will be children activities as well, including turtle races, puppet concerts, storytelling, arts and crafts, wash-off tattoos, face painting, a play zone and much more. EcoFest ’08 will feature Matt Marshak and Band, Children’s Performing Artist Janice Buckner and Patricia Shih, and James W. Foote as former President Theodore Roosevelt, one of our nations leading conservationists.

EcoFest ’08 is part of North Hempstead’s annual Earth Day celebration; a month long celebration that includes the Operation Clean Sweep program and Townwide Community Cleanups. For more information on these programs and how to get involved, please call 311 or log on to the Town’s website at www.northhempsteadny.gov.
