Town of North Hempstead to Co-Sponsor Defensive Driving Courses at CGM
New Hyde Park, NY—Supervisor Jon Kaiman, Councilman Angelo P. Ferrara, Councilwoman Lee Seeman and the North Hempstead Town Board announced today that the town will co-sponsor defensive driving courses with the Empire Safety Council and AARP at Clinton G. Martin Park, located at 1601 Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park.
“I am pleased that the Town is co-sponsoring these classes that will offer residents the opportunity to not just become safer drivers, but reduce insurance costs, cut penalty points, and renew expiring certificates,” said Supervisor Jon Kaiman.
The Empire Safety Council will offer all residents the opportunity to attend its classes on the following dates: Sunday, February 20, Saturday, March 12 or Saturday, April 23. Classes will be held from 9:30AM to 3:30PM. Check or cash payment is due on the day of class in the amount of $38.00 per person. Please make sure your name, address, and phone number is included on the check.
Courses offered by AARP for drivers 50 years and older are on the following dates: Saturday, March 5, July 2, September 3 and November 5 from 10:00AM to 4:00PM. Please be sure your check has your name, address, phone number and date of class you wish to attend. The course is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members.
