Manorhaven Pool Now Accepting Memberships

Port Washington, NY– North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman, Councilwoman Dina De Giorgio, and the Town Board recently announced that the Manorhaven Pool Complex is now accepting memberships for the 2012 Summer Season.

Last year, the Manorhaven Pool was completely renovated to bring it into the 21st century. The pool complex, located at 159 Manorhaven Blvd. in Port Washington, now boasts, among other features: a 25,000 square foot main pool area with competition and lap swim area, general swim sections, zero depth entry for children and beginners, as well as two giant water slides and state of the art play features and a separate kiddie pool area.

Manorhaven Beach Park also provides full outdoor recreation activities, such as basketball, newly re-surfaced tennis courts, handball, horseshoe pits, racquetball and bocce courts, and a brand new skate park.

“I encourage all local residents to take advantage of all this complex has to offer,” said Supervisor Kaiman. “We are extremely proud of the way this pool has turned out and Manorhaven Beach Park will now be a premier family destination once again.”

To apply for membership, residents should call 311 or visit the Town’s website at www.northhempsteadny.gov.  Swim classes and other class registration information starts June 2 at the pool facility.

Manorhaven Pool will open June 16.
