Town Accepting Entries for North Hempstead Arts Advisory Council Juried Photography Contest & Exhibit


North Hempstead, NY
 North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, the Town Board and the Town’s Business & Tourism Development Corporation (“BTDC”) along with the North Hempstead Arts Advisory Council are pleased to announce that the Town will be holding its third Arts Matter! Juried Art Contest and Exhibit which will feature photographs that showcase the environment of the Town of North Hempstead. Acceptable mediums include color, black & white, sepia photographs as well as Polaroid prints, reproductions and digital format. Entries will be accepted until June 20, 2017 and the exhibit will be on display at Town Hall in Manhasset from July 10 through August 31.

In order to enter, you must be a resident of the Town, an employee of a business located in the Town or a member of an arts organization within the Town. All artists must be 18 years or older.

Any photographs submitted must be available from July 5, 2017 to September 1, 2017 and must have been taken in the past three years.  Each photographer may submit up to three photographs. The entry fee should be made payable to BTDC.  Entry form and check should be sent to: BTDC, 220 Plandome Road, Manhasset, NY 11030. The winning photographs will be on display on the 1st floor at Town Hall in Manhasset. The exhibit will be open to the public. The Arts Matter! Artist’s Reception will take place on Tuesday, July 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Town Hall.
