COVID-19 Outdoor Accommodations

LIFT UP LOCAL--ROAD CLOSURE PERMIT APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

The Town of North Hempstead is temporarily allowing restaurants, food service establishments and retail stores an additional way to expand their operations outdoors during the timeframe in which such establishments are subject to reduced interior occupancy or density restrictions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Road Closure Permit application is intended to allow Chambers of Commerce, Business Improvement Districts or a majority of businesses on a street the opportunity to obtain a permit for a temporary road closure to allow for use of a closed street as dining and/or retail space.

  (i) New York State Liquor Authority Guidance on Outdoor Expansion of Licensed Premises in Response to Covid-19 Outbreak
  
  (ii) Licensee Certification for Temporary Extension of Licensed Premises onto Municipal Property form; and 
  
  (iii) Example of a Block Plot Diagram (City/Town).
