TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD ENCOURAGES RESIDENTS TO STAY SAFE THIS FOURTH OF JULY

Manhasset, NY – Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Councilman Robert Troiano are advising Town residents to lay back and enjoy the show, the fourth of July fireworks that is. Fourth of July is a time for families to gather with friends and fire up the barbecue to celebrate the holiday.

“Fireworks are a Fourth of July tradition, and the use of all fireworks should be left to the professionals. Every year, fireworks are to blame for numerous injuries, and even fatalities for people of all ages,” remarked Supervisor Kaiman. “Fire officials report that on a typical Fourth of July, fireworks cause more fires in the United States than all other causes combined. So this Fourth of July, leave the fireworks to the professionals and attend one of the many public displays that will be conducted at locations across Long Island."

“The law in New York State clearly states that no consumer fireworks, including sparklers, are legal,” stated Councilman Troiano. “For the safety of family, friends, and innocent bystanders, please leave the fireworks to the trained professionals.”
