Supervisor Bosworth to Speak at “Climate Change” Forum

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth will serve as the Introductory Speaker at the January 9th “Climate Change” forum at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock, at 48 Shelter Rock Road in Manhasset. The event will begin at 7:30pm.

New York State Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel (16th Assembly District) and North Hempstead’s Chief Sustainability Officer Fran Reid will be featured presenters in this forum, which will detail the Climate Reality Project, a program that is founded and chaired by former Vice President Al Gore, and has a mission to push for action on the climate crisis.

Supervisor Bosworth, who has been an advocate for water conservation and preservation of Long Island’s aquifers and drinking water, will introduce the presenters. “Addressing the growing concern of climate change is of paramount importance. Being aware of the issues and the actions that need to be taken will help improve the quality of life for our future generations,” said Supervisor Bosworth.

The presentation will focus on the importance of understanding the climate crisis and prevention steps. The speakers will also talk about climate change on a local level, including what the Town of North Hempstead and the Town’s Office of Sustainability are doing to help combat climate change.

This forum is open to the public and the suggested donation is $5.
