North Hempstead Funds $115,000 Toward Local Arts Programs & Film Festival

North Hempstead, NY – Supervisor Judi Bosworth is proud to announce that the Town of North Hempstead and the Town’s Business and Tourism Development Corporation (BTDC) will be awarding $100,000 to the Gold Coast Film Festival for the festival’s programming and outreach and $15,000 to the Gold Coast Arts Center for programming.

“The Town of North Hempstead highly values and supports the arts because we know what it adds to our quality of life,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “Our partnership with the Gold Coast Arts Center helps to promote the growth of arts and film within our Town while boosting tourism and our local economy.”

“The Gold Coast Arts Center seeks to enrich and better the lives of residents in the Town of North Hempstead and to revitalize our downtowns by bringing the best of art, music, dance, theatre and film from all over the world, to our area,” said Executive Director of the Gold Coast Arts Center Regina Gil. “We are most grateful for the vision and active leadership that Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town of North Hempstead Council are modeling for other communities around Long Island through this unique partnership. We should all be proud to live and work here.”

The Gold Coast Arts Center is a non-for-profit organization that supports the arts through education, performances, and exhibitions. Their community outreach programs encourage students to participate in the center’s programs.

The Gold Coast Film Festival, produced by the Gold Coast Arts Center, screens both feature and short films over the course of a week each fall with thisyear’s festival scheduled for the first week of November. It also features special “Conversation With” events, Q&A sessions, and workshops.
