North Hempstead’s Performance Management System ‘TownStat’ Recognized for 4th Consecutive Year

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth is proud to announce that TownStat, a performance measurement and management program used by the Town, has been honored by International City/County Management Association for the fourth consecutive year with the Certificate of Distinction Award.

The ICMA’s mission is to create excellence in local governance by developing and fostering professional management to build better communities. The organization recognizes local governments and their chief administrators for innovative and effective programs, such as TownStat, that meet the goals and standards of their mission for creating stronger communities.

“The establishment of TownStat, which works hand-in-hand with our 311 Call Center, has allowed the Town to effectively collect and measure data,” said Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “The program allows us to ensure that the performance management standards established by the Town are met, that follow-up is completed in a timely fashion and that we are serving our residents at the highest possible level.”

The Certificate of Distinction awarded to the Town, from the ICMA Center for Performance Analytics, recognizes the efforts made by the TownStat staff to track, report, and act upon performance data. This performance management system helps to promote cost reduction and quality improvement in the Town’s everyday operations.

This latest achievement marks the fourth consecutive year that the Town of North Hempstead has been recognized by the ICMA. The certificate will be presented to the Town at the ICMA’s Annual Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina, from September 14th to the 17th.
