Stepping Stones Lighthouse Supported by Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza
North Hempstead, NY – The Town of North Hempstead is proud to announce that its drive to restore the Stepping Stones Lighthouse is being supported by Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. During February, the restaurant will donate 20% of dine in and carry out orders when you mention to your server that you are a supporter of the Stepping Stones Lighthouse.
The historic Stepping Stones Lighthouse, was built in 1877 and is currently in need of structural repairs. An evaluation done approximately five years ago, estimated the total restoration project to be approximately $4 million, according to Town officials.
Through a partnership between the Town of North Hempstead and the Great Neck Historical Society, the Town will provide in-kind services to assist with repairs and will also seek grants and private donations. Recently the Town prepared an application to the US National Parks Service National Maritime Heritage Grant program for $200,000.
