Couples Reaffirm Vows at North Hempstead Valentine’s Day Event

North Hempstead, NY – The Town of North Hempstead held their Sixth Annual Marriage Recommitment Ceremony at the Harbor Links Clubhouse on February 13th, an event organized by the office of the Town Clerk. The ceremony, which was officiated by Town Clerk Wayne Wink, offered longtime married couples the opportunity to reaffirm their vows to each other and enjoy a sumptuous lunch.

Over 50 couples renewed their vows at this year’s ceremony, something Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Town Clerk Wink were proud of considering the subzero temperatures that day.

Prior to renewing their vows, Town Clerk Wink opened by saying, “These couples relationships have withstood the test of time, and it’s truly special when you get to celebrate that commitment with others in our community.”

Supervisor Bosworth also issued remarks, and said. “We all know that marriage is not always easy and it takes work, but the rewards are immeasurable. Many of you have experienced those rewards over the past 50, 60, or even 70 years, which is a testament to your true love for one another.”

Also on hand at the ceremony were Councilwoman Viviana Russell, Councilman Peter Zuckerman, Councilman Angelo Ferrara, Councilwoman Anna Kaplan, and Receiver of Taxes Charles Berman.
