Supervisor Bosworth & Town Board Approve Formation of Aircraft Noise Committees
North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Town Board members this week unanimously approved a resolution forming two committees that will serve in an advisory role to elected officials in the Town on the issue of airplane noise. The committees will also produce a quarterly report on airplane noise that will be published on the Town’s website.
The Town of North Hempstead’s Aircraft Noise Technical Advisory Committee will be chaired Leonard Schaier of Port Washington and the Town’s Aircraft Noise Public Education and Outreach Committee will be chaired by New Hyde Park resident Fran Gould. Members of the committees have not been named yet.
“Airplane noise is a quality of life issue that affects our residents and these committees will serve as a conduit to bring their concerns to our federal officials and the FAA,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “Our residents need and deserve a seat at the table and these committees will provide that.”
