Hundreds Attend North Hempstead’s Environmental Extravaganza EcoFest

Albertson, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board hosted hundreds of Town residents this weekend at the 10th Annual EcoFest celebration at Clark Botanic Garden. EcoFest, the Town’s premiere environmental education and entertainment event of the year, took place on Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday, May 3rd.

The free two-day interactive environmental festival featured crafts, lawn games, live animals and musical performances all geared toward educating children about the importance of protecting the environment. Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth attended the event and emphasized the significance of environmental stewardship. “This weekend is all about fun and enjoying the beautiful sanctuary that is Clark Botanic Garden, but today I hope that everyone is able to take away a sense of responsibility for caring for our Earth,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “By all of us doing our part, even just taking small steps, we can improve the future of our precious planet and continue to make our community green.”

Featured performers included Erik’s Reptile Edventures, who showcased alligators, lizards, iguanas and more, the Wildlife Theater, featuring Frankie’s frog pond adventure, the Long Island Science Museum, Green Meadow Farms and Volunteers for Wildlife, which provided fascinating tidbits about Long Island’s nature and environment.

“After the harsh winter we experienced I am thrilled to see Clark Botanic Garden in all its splendor,” said Town Councilman Peter Zuckerman. “I thank all the residents who came out to enjoy the Garden as well as all the terrific musical entertainment and fun and interactive activities that EcoFest has to offer.”
