Town to Host Tax Grievance Seminar, Feb. 3, 2016
Event Co-Sponsored by Ahavat Shalom Synagogue Men’s Committee
North Hempstead, NY –North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Receiver of Taxes Charles Berman, and Council member Anna Kaplan have teamed up with the Ahavat Shalom Synagogue Men’s Committee to offer a Tax Grievance Workshop on February 3, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ahavat Shalom Synagogue in Great Neck.
Although the Town does not set your property tax assessment, it can help you lower your taxes. During this seminar, Tax Receiver Berman will explain the Tax Grievance process and how to go about challenging your property’s assessment to save money on your property tax bill. This seminar will help you file a tax grievance on your own using the “Correction of Property Tax Assessment” application that will be available at the workshop. The filing period is from January 4 to March 1, 2016.
The Ahavat Shalom Synagogue is located at 130 Cutter Mill Road in Great Neck. For more information please call 311 or 516-869-6311.
