Manhasset Pizzeria Collects over 350 Local Signatures to Reopen Sixth Precinct

North Hempstead, NY – Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth recently visited Villa Milano in Manhasset to collect a petition circulated to the customers to reopen the Sixth Precinct. The owners, John and Donald Benvenuto, collected over 350 signatures from local patrons wishing to reopen the precinct, which Supervisor Bosworth presented to the Nassau County Legislature on Monday, May 23.

“I think it is eye-opening to see how many local residents are unhappy with the Sixth Precinct merger, especially now that we are seeing the results are not what they expected. The residents of North Hempstead are making it clear that they want it reopened,” said Supervisor Bosworth.

Donald Benvenuto said, “I would like to thank Judi Bosworth for pushing this issue and for the residents for signing the petition.”

Nassau’s Sixth Precinct has been closed since 2012 when County Executive Ed Mangano began consolidating police precincts.
