Town Clerk Michelle Schimel to Unveil Archives Exhibit
Manhasset, NY- North Hempstead Town Clerk Michelle Schimel will recognize Archives Week 2006 on November 15th with the exhibit, “Answering the Call of Freedom: Our Town Responds,” a tribute honoring North Hempstead’s service men and women from the Revolutionary War to the present.
“The historical documents and photographs featured in this presentation weave a story about the men and women who risked their lives for freedom and country by serving in the United States Armed Forces as well as the supreme efforts made by the community on the home front. New York State Archives Week is an annual observance of archival and historical records that are important to our lives.” said Schimel.
Ms. Schimel will present the Archives Week 2006 exhibit at the grand opening of the newly renovated Offices of the Town Clerk and the Receiver of Taxes on Wednesday, November 15th, 2006 from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm. This event is open to the public.
