North Hempstead TV Debuts Project Safe Series
The three episode series explores different tips for seniors to avoid scams
North Hempstead, NY –Town of North Hempstead’s aging in place program, Project Independence, has teamed up with North Hempstead TV (NHTV) for a brand new series of “Project Safe” shows airing now on NHTV to help seniors stay safe from scams, including financial and healthcare scams. The series offer advice from experts in the fields of elder law, healthcare and finances.
“It is so important to give our seniors the tools they need to protect themselves against scams and criminals who try to take advantage of them,” said Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “The experts interviewed in these Project Safe series offer some solid advice to our seniors on keeping their finances safe and common scams to avoid.”
The program is moderated by John Ryan, host of Project Independence Radio.
Episode One: is about general scams and features Assistant New York State Attorney General, Toni Logue, who will gives her expert advice on how to avoid being scammed, as well as services New York State offers to assist those who have been scammed.
Episode Two: focuses on scams related to healthcare and medical expenses with Kinga Kiszko, DO, a board certified physician at Northwell Health.
Episode Three deals with financial scams and other scams that specifically target the elderly. In this episode, Ann Margaret Carrozza, Esq. an elder law attorney and former New York State Assemblywoman, gives her advice on how to prevent falling victim to financial elder abuse scams.
