Town Clerk’s Office to Issue Passports

North Hempstead, NY – Planning to travel the globe? Your world-wide adventure can now start off by getting your passport at the North Hempstead Town Clerk’s office, where the office will be processing and renewing federal passports.

“It’s very exciting that we are finally able to offer our residents the convenience of getting their passport processed right at the Town Clerk’s office,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “We are striving to make the process of applying or renewing a passport as painless as possible.”

“The Clerk’s office will be a one-stop-shop for applying and renewing passports where residents can make an appointment to take the photo and process the passport all at once,” said Town Clerk Wayne Wink.

Applicants must bring two forms of government issued identification, a 2x2 photo well as fill out the application which can be found at: https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports.html or picked up in the Town Clerk’s office. The Town will be able to also take photos on site for a fee of $10. This service is open to both residents and non-residents. Town employees are not eligible to apply for a passport at this location.

There are two fees associated with filing for a passport; the execution fee which is paid to the Town Clerk’s office and the application fee which is paid to the Department of State. Payments for the execution fee can be made with cash or by credit card or check but please note that the application fee must be paid by check.
