Hearing Date Set for April 25 to Increase Parking for Shoppers & Park Goers in Manhasset

Lot adjacent to Mary Jane Davies Park will also provide spaces for park goers, too!

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Town Council Member Anna Kaplan announced today that a hearing date of April 25 has been set to consider a resolution that would designate 13 Town of North Hempstead parking spots in Manhasset adjacent to Mary Jane Davies Park for shopper and park user parking. The parking lot located on the west side of the park currently has 20 spots; seven are leased out to Manhasset businesses for employee parking. The remaining parking spots could be used for up to 120 minutes for anyone wishing to shop along Plandome Road or visit the park.

“Parking is often a challenge in downtown Manhasset and it is our goal to make it less so by designating these spots for shoppers and park goers to use,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “This will also allow for easier access to Mary Jane Davies Park so that parents and their children can take advantage of this wonderful facility.”

“I am very pleased that we will be considering designating these Town parking spaces for our residents to use,” said Council Member Kaplan. “We hope that it will encourage people to frequent downtown Manhasset.”

The resolution will be considered at the April 25 Town Board meeting, which begins at 7 p.m.
