WESTBURY HILLS CIVIC ASSOCIATION PITCHES IN AND CLEANS UP
(Westbury, NY) – North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman joined with Town Councilman Robert Troiano and members of the Westbury Hills Civic Association on Saturday, April 21 to help clean up and remove debris from the area directly off the Northern State Parkway at Exit 34.
“I want to commend the residents of this community for participating in the Town’s annual community clean up in celebration of Earth Day,” Kaiman said. “This event is intended to give residents an opportunity to help preserve and enhance their own neighborhood. I’m pleased to join with them.”
In addition to cleaning up and removing debris, the residents cut the grass, landscaped and planted trees.
The community clean ups, conducted on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, are part of an extensive annual celebration of Earth Day by the Town of North Hempstead. The Town also cleans its streets and roadways in a two-week period under Operation Clean Sweep, and will be holding its 2nd Annual EcoFest at Clark Botanic Garden on May 5th and 6th.
