It’s Time to Recognize Our Hometown Heroes
Town Clerk Leslie Gross would like to recognize and celebrate the people who are making a positive difference in our world. With that in mind, she is issuing a call for Hometown Heroes.
The news we get every day in papers, magazines, and television is often in the spectacular category. What the Town Clerk's Office is looking for is positive, quieter news that tells us about the people who have gone out of their way to make life easier or fuller for others — the Hometown Heroes of North Hempstead.
“As we prepare to celebrate the 100 th anniversary of Town Hall, it would be especially fitting to recognize our twenty-first century residents who carry on the tradition of service to the community,” said Ms. Gross.
Hometown Hero Nomination Forms are available on the Town’s web site and at the Town Clerk’s Office at 200 Plandome Road in Manhasset. Nominations will be accepted through August 17, 2007. “As you think about who to nominate,” continued Ms. Gross, “know that Hometown Heroes can be any age. With your help, North Hempstead’s 100 th anniversary celebration will include one or more Hometown Heroes
of today.”
