Town Board Recognizes Earth Day T-Shirt Contest Winners

North Hempstead, NY –– Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board recently honored students at Town Hall who applied their artistic talents for the North Hempstead Earth Day T-shirt Contest. This year’s theme was “I’m for Water,” and this year’s winner was Trisha George, a 7th grade student at New Hyde Park Memorial High School. Nearly 4,000 t-shirts have been created with the winner’s artwork. These shirts have been distributed to schools throughout the Town of North Hempstead, and were also given out at community clean-ups that the Town Council Members have organized.

High School Honorable Mentions went to: Danielle Speranza, Mineola High School; Maxwell Rho, Manhasset High School; and Alyson Zeller, Wheatley School


Middle School Honorable Mentions went to: Angelina Daniel, Carle Place Middle School and Seren Lark, Willets Road School

Elementary School Honorable Mentions went to: Giana Moruzzi, Cherry Lane School; Nikita Kumar, Denton Avenue School; Rebecca Arbitman, Harbor Hill Elementary School; Zuri Chan, Harbor Hill Elementary School; Alexia Vithoulkas, Guggenheim School; Christopher Garcia, Jackson Avenue School; Lia Flores, Manorhaven School and Lillian Scarpa, John Phillip Sousa School
