Supervisor Bosworth Reminds Residents that FREE Sunscreen is Available at a Multitude of Town Parks

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Town Council members would like to remind residents to look for the touch-free sunscreen dispensers now available at 25 Town parks and pools. The free sunscreen program kicked off last year and was a great success. The initiative is a partnership between Creative Advertising Concepts, who brought the program to the Town of North Hempstead last year and sponsor NYU Winthrop Hospital. Each dispenser contains about a quart of SPF 30 sunscreen and will be available now through Labor Day. The sunscreen sponsorship program is at no cost to taxpayers.

“Providing sunscreen in an easy and convenient manner will safeguard our residents’ health,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “It’s also an opportunity for us to educate our residents about the dangers of skin cancer and the critical importance of protecting ourselves from the sun’s damaging rays. Now with the easy availability of sunscreen at 25 locations throughout North Hempstead it leaves no excuses for not using it!”

The dispensers are manufactured by Bright Guard LLC. The Town is responsible for re-filling the dispensers and Creative Advertising Concepts is responsible for any needed repairs and the supply of sunscreen.

The dispensers are located at various locations throughout the town including North Hempstead Beach Park, Clark Botanic Garden, Harbor Links Golf Course and other major parks and pools.
