Town of North Hempstead Presents 3rd Annual
Bar Beach Family Fest
Free and Fun For All Ages
Port Washington, NY – North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman along with the TNH Business and Tourism Development Corporation have announced the third annual Bar Beach Family Fest on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 12am. This beach blast is one more chance for everyone to join their friends, family and community to enjoy one more day of summer at the beach.
“We’re excited and proud to be in our 3rd year of this wonderful event, this year promises to be bigger and better then ever before. We received such wonderful feedback from residents all over the town after last years beach fest, we began preparing for this years almost immediately,” commented Supervisor Kaiman. “We hope that everyone will take advantage of this great opportunity to soak up the sun, the beach, and summer fun, for one last day, and take part in all of the wonderful activities that we have to offer.”
The event is FREE to everyone, attractions for children and adults of all ages will include kites, stilts, arts and crafts, bubbles, food, professional sand castle building, digging for dinosaur bones, a petting zoo, face painting, kayak lessons, T-shirts and prizes, food, entertainment, story readings, educational sections, and a whole lot more. This extremely popular event kicks off at 12noon and will continue throughout the day.
Everyone who attends will enjoy entertainment and concerts all day long. Featured bands are, Denzel Botus (Raggae), followed by The Mary Lamont Band (Country Music), then The GEMZ all-girl ‘Tween Music Band, a special performance of the United States Air Force Rock ‘n Roll Band (The After Burners) and finally, relive the past with a wonderful concert by The 1910 Fruit Gum Company.
The Bar Beach Family Fest is brought to you in partnership with the Town of North Hempstead, its Parks Department, the Town of North Hempstead Business and Tourism Development Corporation, and all the wonderful sponsors and supporters of the event.
Supervisor Kaiman added, “I would like to thank our co-sponsors Wachovia Bank, Cablevision, North Fork Bank, Kiss, The Jolly Fisherman, Panera Bread, Roslyn Savings Bank, Sandata Technologies, The Amsterdam, and Signature bank, for all of their support and help with the production of this wonderful event.”
Admission and activities are free at the Bar Beach Family Fest. A parking fee of $5 per vehicle will be charged, so pack your car full of your friends and family and come on down this Sunday to the Third Annual Bar Beach Family Fest at Bar Beach in Port Washington New York.
In the event of rain the concerts will be performed indoors at Schreiber High School in Port Washington.
