North Hempstead Rolls Out Passport Parking App

North Hempstead, NY -
Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Council Member Mariann Dalimonte recently announced the addition of the new Passport Parking mobile app to the Port Washington Parking District. Visitors can use the app to pay for over 1,000 on-street and off-street parking spaces.

This is the first time North Hempstead will have a mobile payment provider for parking. In addition to using the app to pay to park, users can:

• Review parking history and receipts
• Receive alerts when parking sessions are about to end
• Extend parking sessions directly from their smartphones

“Parking is always a cause for concern for residents in any municipality,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “Here at the Town we take these concerns very seriously, and I am excited that we are introducing technology to make our residents’ lives just a little bit easier.”

“It is simple to use, and will save you the time and energy of having to rush back to the meter to check your time,” said Council Member Dalimonte. “Remember that residents can still use quarters at our on-street meters as well as for parking in our municipal lots.”

Passport works with nearly 1,000 clients to power their parking operations. Commuters using New York’s Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) can also use the app to pay to park at the LIRR’s Mineola Intermodal Center. Other cities in the state of New York who partner with Passport include Albany, Buffalo and Rye.

“Launching Passport’s mobile parking app brings a new wave of convenience and simplicity to North Hempstead,” said Anthony Caddell, sales executive at Passport. “Our goal is to provide the technology to streamline the parking experience and now, drivers can pay to park across the town without the need to carry change.”

Users can download the free Passport Parking app from the App Store, Google Play or manage online at passportparking.com. Transaction fees will apply.
