Town Announces Reopening of Playgrounds

North Hempstead, NY - North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board have announced that playgrounds at Town parks have now reopened.

According to New York State guidelines, the Town has opened up playground facilities for use. Playground equipment will be cleaned daily. Attendance will be monitored and hours of operation may be adjusted according to help adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Town parks are open for passive use including the Town beaches at Manorhaven Beach Park and North Hempstead Beach Park. Fees for beaches and parks have been waived for the summer due to the pandemic. Additionally, beaches are presently operating at a 50% capacity and remain limited to Nassau County residents only.

The Town reminds residents to continue to maintain social distancing guidelines and stay six feet apart. In addition, in accordance with New York State guidelines visitors should wear a mask when outside to help maintain the health and safety of others.
