Town Completes Resurfacing of Grand Boulevard in Westbury

North Hempstead, NY – Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Council Member Viviana Russell are proud to announce that the resurfacing of Grand Boulevard has been completed. The project which was organized by the Town’s Department of Public Works was completed in September.

“Roadway resurfacing is a top priority in our Capital Plan each year,” said Supervisor Bosworth. “Projects like this one on Grand Blvd. improve both road safety and traffic flow for walkers, bicyclists, and motorists, alike. This administration remains committed to its longstanding goal of providing a better quality of life for the residents of North Hempstead."

"Prior to the completion of this project there were areas along Grand Boulevard that had no sidewalks." Said Council Member Russell. "Grand Boulevard is a heavily traveled thruway connecting the northern and southern ends of New Cassel for passenger and commercial vehicles as well as pedestrians. Therefore, ensuring Grand Blvd. remains in good repair for surrounding residents and business owners is of utmost importance."

The project included the reconstruction of one mile of roadway through commercial and residential areas along Grand Boulevard, the replacement of curbs, sidewalks and street repaving. In 2020, over 100,000 linear feet of roadways will be repaved.
