LIRR Sidewalk and Overpass - Manhasset Update
A Message to the Manhasset Community:

The Town of North Hempstead is working with the Long Island Rail Road to repair the sidewalk on the west side of the Plandome Road LIRR overpass. In order to complete this work and ensure the safety of the residents and construction team, beginning Monday, October 26, 2020, one southbound lane of Plandome Road in the vicinity of the project will be closed. This will temporarily eliminate the designated left turn lane from Plandome Road onto Park Avenue. Nassau County is working to ensure that the signalized intersection will function appropriately. In addition, all pedestrians will need to use the sidewalk on the east side of the overpass during the construction period. The project will require a track outage which the Long Island Rail Road has scheduled for the weekend of November 7th and 8th. Please check the LIRR’s website: www.mta.info or LIRR Train Time App for more information. The Town and the LIRR will work expeditiously to complete the project which we anticipate will take several weeks.

We understand that the lane closure and track outage will be an inconvenience and ask for everyone’s patience and understanding during the repairs.

If you have any questions or concerns please call the Town’s 311 call center at 311 or (516) 869-6311.
