North Hempstead Hosts Veterans Donation Drive Benefiting the Northport VA

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth, the Town Board, and the Town’s Veterans Advisory Committee are proud to be hosting the 7th annual donation drive benefiting the Northport VA Medical Center. This year donations will benefit the Hero Hunger Help project.

“We are excited to once again partner with the Northport VA for our veterans donation drive,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “This year our donation drive is a little different, but we are still committed to giving back and helping out veterans in need. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted a lot of people including veterans and we hope our residents will give back and help those who have served our country”

The Hero Hunger Help Project helps veterans combat food insecurity. As part of the donation drive, the Town is collecting gift cards for grocery stores and pharmacies. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic no clothing, personal care goods or other items will be accepted.

2020 also marks the 75th Anniversary of the end of World War II. This year’s donation drive will honor this historic anniversary and the veterans who worked hard to protect our freedom and democracy.

Those interested in donating can mail gift cards to: Veterans Advisory Committee, Town of North Hempstead, 220 Plandome Road, Manhasset, NY 11030. For more information, please call 311.
