North Hempstead Promotes Small Business Saturday
Town officials encourage residents to shop local this holiday season

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board are urging residents to support Small Business Saturday on November 28, as part of a national effort to drive consumers to shop at local, independently owned businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

“It is extraordinarily important, particularly this year, for us to support the local small businesses that make our communities unique,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many of our local businesses, and it is incumbent upon us to show our support for them by shopping small both on Small Business Saturday and throughout the holiday season.”

Small Business Saturday, November 28, is part of a national effort to drive consumers to shop at local, independently owned businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. In 2019, more than 110 million consumers participated in Small Business Saturday which resulted in nearly $20 billion spent nationwide at small businesses.
