Town Host New Year’s Fireworks Extravaganza
North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board are excited to be hosting a New Year’s Fireworks extravaganza at North Hempstead Beach Park (south lot) on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“We know that 2020 was a tough year for so many people,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth “This fireworks event not only marks the start of a new year, but it will allow everyone to get out of the house and have some fun while still being safe and maintaining social distancing guidelines.”
The fireworks display, produced by Santore, will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m., and gates to North Hempstead Beach Park will open an hour before show time. The fireworks will be synced to music that will be broadcast through the car radio.
The Town will be enforcing social distancing guidelines at all times. All attendees are required to remain in their vehicles unless using the restrooms. Additionally, they must wear a mask when not in their vehicles.
Food and refreshments will not be available for purchase. However, residents are encouraged to bring their own snacks.
The event is free and open to all North Hempstead residents only. Capacity is limited to 800 vehicles to accommodate social distancing guidelines. The Town is encouraging attendees to bring non-perishable/canned foods to the events as part of North Hempstead's donation drive. Vehicles will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis. Attendees are not required to register ahead of time.
