Town to Host “Yes We Can” Summer Camp Program
North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Council Member Viviana Russell and the Town Board announced that the “Yes We Can” Community Center will be hosting a summer camp program for children ages 5 through 14 this summer.
The program will run weekdays from Tuesday July 6, 2021 through Friday, August 20, 2021 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $50 per week for North Hempstead residents and $125 a week for non-residents, with priority given to Town residents.
“We are so excited to again offer this enriching and educational program,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth. “From exercise and sports to classroom lessons, our summer camp provides an extraordinarily fun and valuable experience. As we did last year, our team promises to follow health and safety guidelines to ensure that all campers remain safe while at ‘Yes We Can’.”
“As children are looking forward to coming out of the pandemic, we are excited to offer this program to the local community and I encourage residents to sign up their children,” said Council Member Viviana Russell.
All campers must be registered for a minimum of two consecutive weeks. The camp will strictly adhere to social distancing guidelines, New York State health and safety guidelines for childcare and day camp programs. Additionally, participants must wear masks.
Summer camp activities will teach children new skills and provide activities that will develop self-confidence, self-esteem and leadership skills. Activities include exercise, sports, games, health & nutrition classes and more.
