Pride Celebration at Town Hall
North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, Council Member Mariann Dalimonte, and the Town Board will be hosting a Pride Month celebration at Town Hall on Monday, June 27 at 11 a.m. The event is being held in conjunction with Be the Rainbow, a local Port Washington based group which advocates for love, self-affirmation, dignity, equality and increased visibility for the LGBTQIA+ community.
“North Hempstead is a community that embraces diversity and inclusion for all, and I am proud that the Town will once again be hosting this celebration,” Supervisor DeSena said. “Although much has been accomplished in the fight against injustice and inequalities, there is much that needs to be achieved. I am delighted that the Town will partner Be the Rainbow on this event.”
“The Town is proud to be hosting this celebration and join together with residents to advocate for equal opportunities and justice for all,” said Council Member Dalimonte. “Thank you to Be the Rainbow for their advocacy and dedication to educating the community.”
Residents are invited to attend the FREE event, which will feature live entertainment, refreshments, giveaways, and more.
Additionally, from June 24 through the end of June Town Hall will be lit up celebrating Pride Month.
