Town Clerk Leslie Gross Visits Free Rabies Clinic

On Saturday, June 7, dogs and cats were welcomed to the Free Rabies Clinic at the Town’s Animal Shelter in Port Washington which was sponsored by the Town of North Hempstead in conjunction with the Nassau County Board of Health. Approximately 100 animals were given free rabies shots.

“A rabies vaccination is critical to the health of your pet, but a rabies tag is not a license” said Town Clerk Leslie Gross. “If your dog doesn’t yet have a license, please consider the benefits: If your dog is lost, your dog’s license tag (with its permanent ID number) is the fastest way to reunite you with your dog and licensing fees go back to feed and shelter homeless dogs.”

Dog license applications are available at the Town Clerk’s Office, 200 Plandome Road, Manhasset. They are also available on the Town’s web site:www.northhempsteadny.gov (click on Office of the Town Clerk, then click on About Dogs ).
