North Hempstead to Host Italian Heritage Month Celebration
North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, Council Member Mariann Dalimonte and the Town Board, in partnership with the John Michael Marino Lodge #1389 and Cellini Lodge #2206 of the Order Sons and Daughter of Italy in America, are proud to present an Italian Heritage Month celebration on Thursday, October 12 at 7 p.m. The event will be held at Clinton G. Martin Park at 1601 Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park.
“The inaugural Italian Heritage Month celebration will honor the culture and contributions of residents from the Italian American community. A celebration like this is an ideal way to participate in the Italian American experience by experiencing traditions, culture, music, and stories,” Supervisor Jen DeSena said. “I am proud that this celebration will take place in our Town for the first time under my administration, and I thank the John Michael Marino Lodge #1389 and Cellini Lodge #2206 for all their hard work in making this a fantastic event.”

"The motivation for this event came from discussions I had with these organization. Together, we have crafted an evening that highlights Italian history through rich traditions and vibrant music. This occasion underscores the strength of our teamwork in creating an exceptional experience for our residents."
Residents are invited to attend as the Town honors the culture and contributions of residents from our Italian community with cultural artifacts and traditional music by Massimiliano Barbolini and Claudio Mattioli in Viaggio.
Italian Heritage Month is celebrated each October and recognizes the contributions that Italian-Americans have made to our country.
