Town of North Hempstead to Sponsor AARP & Empire Safety Defensive Driving Courses
New Hyde Park, NY—Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the North Hempstead Town Board announced today that the Town will sponsor AARP and Empire Safety defensive driving courses at Clinton G. Martin Park, 1601 Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park.
“It’s a great opportunity for employees and residents to reduce insurance costs, cut penalty points, increase personal driving safety, and renew expiring certificates,” said Supervisor Kaiman.
AARP
To register for the AARP defensive driving course please make a check payable to AARP for $12.00 for members, $14.00 for non-members. Your seat will be reserved when your check is received. A confirmation letter will be mailed to you. No Refunds. Please be sure that the check has your name, address, phone number and AARP membership number. Please mail your check to Mrs. Derrick at the Town of North Hempstead, Project Independence, 1601 Marcus Avenue, New Hyde Park, NY 11040.
Residents can complete the AARP defensive driving course in one day on Friday, April 17, Friday, May 15 or Friday, June 19, 2009 from 9:00am to 4:30pm.
Empire Safety
The Empire Safety defensive driving courses are available for $38. To complete the course in one day, residents can attend a class on Saturday, March 14th, April 11th or May 9, 2009 from 9:30am to 3:30pm. To complete the course in two days during the evenings, residents can attend the class March 30 and 31, April 15 and 16 or May 20 and 21 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
