North Hempstead Receiver of Taxes to Host

Property Tax Exemption Seminars

North Hempstead, NY – Town of North Hempstead Receiver of Taxes Mary Jo Collins has announced that she will host 11 in-person “Property Tax Exemption” seminars this fall. Homeowners will learn how to apply for important property tax exemptions and will also have an opportunity to ask questions about the application process.

There will be day and evening presentations to help accommodate the various schedules of residents. Residents will learn about STAR (Basic and Enhanced), Senior Citizen, Veterans, and other tax exemptions that can help lower property taxes. Receiver Collins will provide helpful information pamphlets as well as application forms.

Reservations are not required but are recommended, as seating may be limited at some locations. To reserve your seat, please email gounarisg@northhempsteadny.gov or call (516) 869-7800 and indicate the seminar you wish to attend.

The following are the dates, times, and locations for each Town of North Hempstead Property Tax Exemption Seminar:

  • Westbury Memorial Library – September 5, 2024
    • 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

  • Bryant Library – September 26, 2024
    • 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
    • 2 Paper Mill Road, Roslyn

 

 

  • Port Washington Public Library – October 1, 2024
    • 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
    • 1 Library Drive, Port Washington

     

  • Bryant Library – October 1, 2024
    • 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
    • 2 Paper Mill Road, Roslyn

 

 

  • East Williston Public Library – October 8, 2024
