North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Supervisor Jennifer DeSena and the North Hempstead Town Board announced the schedule for the town’s E-Waste Drop-Off Program throughout 2025.

Supervisor DeSena explained, “We accumulate more electronic waste than we realize and just throwing them away eventually means chemicals leaching into our soil and water supply. That’s why I want residents to take advantage of this convenient drop off program. Preserving our environment really does begin in each of our homes.”   

Items accepted at the Town of North Hempstead E-Waste Drop-Off Program include: Computers (including laptops, desktops, tablets, and e-readers), televisions, cathode ray tubes, computer peripherals (including any cable, cord, or wiring for the computer), monitors, electronic keyboards, electronic mice or similar devices, facsimile machines, document scanners, and printers (only those intended for computer use and weighing less than 100 lbs.), VCRs, digital video recorders, portable digital music players, DVD players (including projectors with DVD capabilities intended for home-use), digital converter boxes, cable or satellite receivers (including digital media receivers), electronic or video game consoles, and small scale servers.

E-Waste may be disposed of at the following 2025 town events:

• January 18, 2025: 802 West Shore Road, Port Washington, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• February 22, 2025: 802 West Shore Road, Port Washington, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
• March 29, 2025: North Hempstead Beach Park, North Lot 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
• April 26, 2025: 802 West Shore Road, Port Washington, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
• May 18, 2025: 802 West Shore Road, Port Washington, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• June 28, 2025: Westbury High School, 1 Post Road, Old Westbury, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
• July 19, 2025: 802 West Shore Road, Port Washington, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• August 23, 2025: 802 West Shore Road, Port Washington, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• September 20, 2025: North Hempstead Beach Park, North Lot 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
• October 5, 2025: North Hempstead Beach Park, North Lot 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
• November 16, 2025: 802 West Shore Road, Port Washington, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
• December 6, 2025: 802 West Shore Road, Port Washington, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

***Please note that only items listed here will be accepted at Town of North Hempstead Drop-Off locations for electronics. Other electrical devices not covered by the New York State Law must be placed out for regular garbage collection. ***
