Town Honors Roslyn Mock Trial Team for First Place Finish

Manhasset, NY—Supervisor Jon Kaiman, Councilman Tom Dwyer, Receiver Charles Berman and North Hempstead Elected Officials took time before the recent Jan 4 Town Board Meeting to honor the Roslyn Mock Trial Team for their first place finish in the ten-team, county-wide Wheatley Tournament.

Recognizing their achievements, Supervisor Kaiman noted, “We always look to recognize outstanding achievements here in the Town of North Hempstead. We are extremely proud of the Roslyn Mock Trial Team and also acknowledge Mr. Berman for his faculty advisement.”

Referring to Mr. Jeremy Berman, Supervisor Kaiman was quick to point out that Jeremy is the son of North Hempstead Receiver Charlie Berman. “I am especially proud of Jeremy and the accomplishments of the Roslyn Mock Trial Team,” said Receiver Berman. “As a resident of Roslyn, I am certainly proud to present the team with a Proclamation acknowledging hours of hard work and determination.”

"We spent two months training for this event, meeting on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 pm and usually going until 7:30 or 8:00 pm," said Mr. Berman. "The fact that team members were willing to commit to such a grueling schedule and bring such energy and collaborative spirit to our meetings demonstrates the level of commitment that made this victory possible."
