Receiver of Taxes Announces New and Improved Tax Bill
Manhasset, N.Y. – North Hempstead Receiver of Taxes Rocco Iannarelli announced today that the Town has created a new more comprehensive format for tax bills that are mailed to property owners in the Town. The first mailing of these newly designed bills will be mailed out the first week of October for the 2004-05 school tax levy. The new bills were reformatted to provide residents with a better understanding of their taxes and payment schedule. Among the featured changes are a double coupon payment invoice and the addition of two self-addressed envelopes.
“It is critical that this information be presented in a complete and straightforward manner,” said Mr. Iannarelli. “Thanks to this new format, Town residents will now have more information and a clearer picture of the breakdown of their tax bill.”
The redesigned tax bill is part of an overall effort by the Receiver of Taxes Office to improve customer service and efficiency throughout the department. The new change in format provides a more comprehensive description of a resident’s property information, a clear explanation of the tax levy information, and shows a detailed account of any and all exemptions that a resident has received.
Anyone with questions regarding the new bill can call the Receiver of Taxes Office (516) 869-7800 or log onto www.northhempsteadny.gov.
