North Hempstead and Roslyn Chamber Co-Host Concert in Gerry Pond Park
Roslyn, NY— The Town of North Hempstead, continuing with its ongoing summer concert series, recently joined with the Roslyn Chamber of Commerce to hold a “Roslyn Rocks the Park” event at Gerry Pond Park in Roslyn. With blankets and chairs in tow, residents gathered for a night of music and entertainment in the town park.
“Events such as this really showcase how important it is for local government and business to work together,” said Supervisor Jon Kaiman, referring to the recent partnership with the Roslyn Chamber of Commerce. “Residents should have full access to gather in our beautiful Town parks while having the opportunity to hear some great music on a summer evening.”
The free concert event featured “The Something Special Big Band”, a swing band that had scores of residents on their feet.
Among the Town officials in attendance included Supervisor Jon Kaiman, North Hempstead Receiver Charles Berman, as well as Nassau County Legislator Wayne Wink.
Gerry Pond Park is located in Roslyn and features a gazebo and views of the working mill and historical buildings surround the area.
