Manhasset, N.Y. – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Town Clerk Michelle Schimel announced today that the 2005 May W. Newburger Women’s Roll of Honor Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, March 23rd from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Clinton G. Martin Park in New Hyde Park.
The Town will be receiving nominations for the 2005 Women’s Roll of Honor now through Wednesday, February 23, 2005.
“Once again, I am pleased to report that the outstanding women of North Hempstead will be given top billing at our 2005 Women’s Roll of Honor Breakfast,” said Supervisor Kaiman. “I encourage all town residents to help us honor the women who have made a continuing difference in the town by submitting a nomination form to my office.”
“The tradition of honoring the extraordinary women whose hard work has made the North Hempstead community a more wonderful place continues,” added Town Clerk Michelle Schimel, the event chairperson. “This year’s breakfast promises to be a wonderful celebration of history, community activism, and camaraderie.”
Since 1994, North Hempstead has held a Women’s History Month Breakfast to honor women who have made a contribution to their community, possess a special personal talent, or have accomplished a significant achievement through public or quiet work.
