Tully Park’s Baseball Diamonds Get Much Needed Spring Training Facelift

New Hyde Park, NY — Supervisor Jon Kaiman, Angelo P. Ferrara in conjunction with North Hempstead’s Parks & Recreation Department announced that a project to renovate and repair the baseball diamonds at Tully Park was recently completed.

Although maintenance on these fields is continuous, a large-scale renovation such as this one only occurs when absolutely necessary. In this case, the Town wanted to make sure that the fields were in pristine playing condition in time for spring, and the start of baseball season.

“The mild winter allowed our Parks Department to get an early start on the much needed maintenance of our baseball fields,” said Councilwoman Angelo P. Ferrara.

The renovations, which included new sod on many of the fields, lasted three weeks. On Field #2, the lip separating the infield from the outfield was repaired and the clay was also refurbished. On Field #3, the baseline, pitcher’s mound, and infield were all renovated.
