Town of North Hempstead Announces Public Meeting

 Immediate Release | Contact: David Chauvin (516) 869-7794|February 25th

Great Neck, NY - In an effort to educate the public on the proposed improvements to the Great Neck library, the Town of North Hempstead will host a public meeting on March 14th, at 7 P.M. at the Great Neck South High School.  The current proposal being advanced by the Great Neck library district would cost approximately $19.4 million dollars.  A public referendum is expected on the issue sometime in the future.

The Town of North Hempstead is hosting the meeting in order for residents hear all sides of the issue.  It is the Town’s intention to have a representative of the Great Neck library district make a presentation on the merits of the program.  This would be followed by the presentation of an alternative viewpoint.  The public will then have the opportunity to ask questions and make comments.

For more information, please contact April Brown Lake, Director of Community Based Planning from the Town of North Hempstead at (516) 627-4062 or by email at Browna@northhempsteadny.gov.
