The Town’s 2012 Summer Concert Series Kicks Off at North Hempstead Beach Park

North Hempstead, NY– Supervisor Jon Kaiman, Councilwoman Dina De Giorgio and the North Hempstead Town Board are proud to announce the first performance in the Town’s free 2012 Summer Concert Series, held every Sunday at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington.

The Projekt, a high-energy variety band that covers hits from every category of popular music, will be performing on Sunday, July 8th at 1:00pm.

Known for combining experience, talent and technology, The Projekt delivers a unique entertainment experience in every performance. They feature 5 lead vocalists, each with their own unique style, and bring an extensive song list. They’ve also recently been featured in People Magazine and Newsday, and have performed at major venues such as the Yankee Stadium World Series “After Party” and on stage with Paul Schaffer of the David Letterman Show.

Providing 34 acres of sandy beach and recreational activities, North Hempstead Beach Park (formerly known as Bar Beach & Hempstead Harbor Parks) includes a promenade for residents who want to walk along the waterfront. A fishing pier, boat ramp, bathhouse and concession area are also available. The park also provides basketball and shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, picnic areas with barbecues and shelter pavilions, and a playground.

Bring your sunscreen and enjoy the music while relaxing on the beautiful beach! If you have kids, take the entire family - the entertainment is really fun for all ages. Any of these activities can be enjoyed for a parking fee of $15. Season-long parking passes are also available. They cost $40 each and can be purchased at either North Hempstead Beach Park or at Manorhaven Beach Park. The same parking permit applies for both parks. If you’re a senior, you can buy a season-long pass for just $25.

If you’d like to find out more about a Season Parking Pass, or if you have any additional questions about the concert schedule, please call 311.
