Supervisor Jon Kaiman to Deliver 2013 State of the Town Address
League of Women Voters to Host Annual Event

North Hempstead, NYWhen the times got tough, North Hempstead got going, doing more with less in terms of personnel as well as programming and operational dollars and refusing to be floored by the persistent economic downturn.

Then Superstorm Sandy struck. But rather than buckle under the stress of darkened neighborhoods, thousands of downed trees and frayed nerves among Town residents, North Hempstead rose to the challenge, activating the newly-opened Community Center as a regional emergency management headquarters and fielding close to 30,000 calls through the 311 Call Center, among other response measures.

Now as Supervisor Kaiman prepares to deliver his 2013 State of the Town address, North Hempstead—ranked by Money Magazine as one of the 100 best places to live in America.—is primed to tackle the new year, fiscally cautious but optimistic.

Supervisor Jon Kaiman will deliver his annual "State of the Town of North Hempstead" address on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at a luncheon hosted by the League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset at the Clubhouse at Harbor Links in Port Washington.  Cost for the luncheon is $35 per person.

The Supervisor will speak at 1:15;  the speech is open to the public at no charge.  For questions and to reserve for the luncheon, contact Marie at the League of Women Voters at 516 - 767 - 1897.
